Pamela Powers, THP
Psychotherapist in Rome

Cognitive psychotherapy has been used successfully for decades to help people through life’s crises. When it is combined with complementary therapies such as mindfulness training, it becomes an even more powerful tool for positive change.

Many clinical studies have demonstrated that cognitive psychotherapy, when combined with mindfulness, is effective in reducing the intensity of negative thoughts, lowering stress levels, increasing self-acceptance, and improving emotional resilience and psychological flexibility.

Mindfulness
Workshops

Mindfulness-based psychotherapy provides a calm and supportive atmosphere in which you can approach crises and conflicts with greater strength and equanimity. The specific technique of mindfulness can be used in your daily life to better cope with any future problem you encounter without the need for continuing professional support.

This multidisciplinary approach works to alleviate a broad range of problems, including: anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, chronic pain and illness, fatigue/insomnia, depression and bereavement, addictive behaviours such as smoking and over-eating, poor self-esteem, lack of motivation, trauma following major life transitions, obsessive thoughts, and excessive anger, frustration, or worry.

Rather than involving years of costly analysis of the past, mindfulness-based cognitive psychotherapy focuses on the present. This therapeutic method builds self-awareness of our habitual responses, provides workable strategies for unhooking from self-limiting thoughts, and directs us toward fulfilling our potential.
